How you can help us
We live in an ecologically-sensitive area and as a family and venue, are committed to the preservation of the farm’s natural heritage. For this reason we ask that you please help us lessen any further impact on our environment by:
Cleaning up after your event at both the chapel and the reception areas: all rubbish is to be picked up and bagged at a central point for collection. Please separate all tins, paper, glass, plastic and other recyclable material and dispose of them in blue garbage bags for recycling.
Please be aware the chapel is used as a community church on Sundays; please ensure it is clean by Sunday morning. You are welcome to leave your wedding flowers in the chapel, if you wish, for the local congregation to enjoy. Otherwise please ensure flowers are relocated before the church service begins.
You are welcome to use fire-baskets, but please be aware we are in a fire-sensitive area, and on windy nights open fires are not permitted. Please also ensure no other fires are lit on the property except for those in designated braai areas, and that guests who smoke are provided with sand buckets for the safe disposal of cigarette butts. All fires must be extinguished before the last guests leave the reception area.
No artificial confetti, glitter, rice, streamers or plastic is permitted at any of the venues. You’re welcome to use rose petals or other natural confetti.
Our wedding on Oakhurst Farm surpassed what we had envisioned for our day. We had the ceremony in the beautiful church, which was built in the early 1800s. The raw beauty of the farm’s landscape made the outdoor setting perfect for the reception. What we loved most was creating a relaxed, homey space between the trees. We are forever grateful towards you for helping make our wedding the most magical weekend. thank you!

The graceful All Saints Church on the beautiful Oakhurst Farm was the location of our wedding. The magnificent Outeniqua Mountains act as the perfect background to the church, which is set partway along a striking avenue of trees in a rural idyll of long green grass, happy cows, dams, hay bales and horses. The Oakhurst staff were professional, helpful and cheerful and were a large part of the success of the wedding weekend.
